A Charles I Oak Armchair
A Charles I oak open armchair.
The top rail, with a low scrolled crest, set above a well-carved back panel of a lozenge with whorls to the top corners. The shaped arms, with stamp carved detail, supported on heavy inverted baluster turnings, which continue into the legs. The seat rail, with running gouge carving. Excellent colour and condition.
Gloucestershire/Wiltshire, circa 1630.
